Where has the time gone?

Wow- I have really left this blog high and dry while focusing my energy on spirits. Shame on me!
The distillery is up and moving and with-it being December, Christmas has sprung at the Love, Katie Distilling. The tree is displayed in the window with cozy seating alongside of it, and the stockings are hung right below classic black and white Christmas classics. You know what this means? WINTER COCKTAILS ARE OUT!!
Our winter menu is set to impress with flavors to amplify the season. Personally, I'm obsessed with the gingerbread mule! That being said- all 6 are incredible and we all have our favorite (wink). Our winter lineup of drinks includes: Pretty in Peppermint Martini, Gingerbread Mule, Winter Wonderland, The Mayor's Grinch, B/LK's Krampus Martini, and rolling over from fall is the Tastefully Toasted Bourbon Smash. We will run a handful of these through December and then change a few up moving in January.
While our vodka is still not to my liking (I am working aggressively hard to get that right), our Love, Aficionado Rye Whiskey is set to launch THIS FRIDAY! Just in time for the holiday season. You will be able to purchase a bottle online for pickup or buy in person during regular business hours along with daytime hours throughout the week.
Besides the Aficionado Rye, next to release is going to be our Love, Binny Bianco Rum. We hope to have bottles available to buy 12/20 (pending label approval and delivery).
Voting has started for Bar Boss which I am currently in the running for. There is a link in our Linktree link which can be found in our IG and Facebook bio. If you have two seconds in the day to toss a vote my way, it would truly give us a boost with a winning prize of 10K. Definitely money that would be put to good use in the distillery, as we are still in need of many useful things!
Holiday sing-along with Lauren Groce is this Friday, December 8th and rolling right into the following week is our Comedy show with host Chrissy Costa December 15th (tickets available on Eventbrite) and a little collaboration with Ineffable Food Truck and Zynka Art Gallery the following day, December 16th! Definitely stop down and celebrate the season with us, we would love to see you :-)

Well hot dang- Christmas is one week away and we have FOUR spirits out for purchase! Love, Aficionado Rye Whiskey has been resting for 5 years and has a sweet lingering after flavor that will leave even non-whiskey drinkers in awe! It is smooth with earthy rich notes on the nose. Baking spices, pipe tobacco and pencil shavings with touches of coffee and toffee. Love, Barrel Reserve Gin has a year of resting under its belt in oak barrels. You’ll find it is slightly spicy, with notes of vanilla, cardamom, sweet and bitter orange peel, with juniper (of course!). This is one you don't want to miss out on. We have limited cases- and once it's gone...it's gone! Love, Binny Bianco Rum is named in honor of my dad (we call him Binny) who has put a lot of blood, sweat, but no tears- only strength, into the company. It is a smooth, sweet white rum lightly aged from sugar and molasses. Notes of vanilla tickle your taste buds for the perfect blend of the Caribbean. Love, Vodka - well…it’s vodka! Distilled from grain, it gives you the clean crisp bite that vodka offers while also giving a little bit of sweet following! This has been a lot of work to get to this place and I am beyond grateful and thrilled for all the bumps along the way. Without those we would not be where we are today. That being said, I am ready to get moving on Love, Querida Gin which will be a collaboration with my better half, Jen. She is the reason behind the brand and she has patiently been waiting for this moment. When gin and Jen collide! This past week has been a whirlwind of delight. As I sit here doing our Friday blog, I am running our very first vodka run! THIS MEANS- "Love, Vodka" will be hitting our shelves just in time for the holidays. We had many hiccups along the way including quite a few unscheduled showers by water spewing out of all the places water could possibly spew. We laughed through it all but could not be more thrilled to be at the place we are! In other exciting news, we pulled the trigger on some rye whiskey which we will also be launching for the upcoming holidays! After sampling a lineup of options, I'd like to think that we made a good choice...one that will certainly not disappoint. Over the last week, we have added a couple fun events to our upcoming lineup. We will be having a holiday favorite sing-along with Lauren Groce (Dec 8), our 2nd comedy show (Dec 15), and a black-tie affair NYE party (Dec 31-Jan 1). Tickets are available on Eventbrite for any events requiring tickets! Gift certificates will be available beginning Dec 1 in case you're looking to gift a night out to someone you love! We have been playing with the idea for a while now and are ready to move forward with it. As always- we are looking forward to serving up cocktails in the tasting room! We have been super busy here at Love, Katie Distilling. Our main menu is complete. We have worked really hard to get it right. Ensuring that we have the best concocted craft cocktails. There will be three separate menus available: our MAIN cocktail menu which will include everyone's favs our BEER menu which will continue to rotate only the best PA made beers, gluten free and NA options always available our SEASONAL menu which will have a lengthy list (because why limit ourselves) of carefully created craft cocktails to flow with the vibes of the season Along with the drink menu, you'll also find a QR code with directions to place an order with our friends at YOSTERIA, an amazing Italian eatery just down the block. They will personally deliver whatever food you order, right from the comfort of your barstool! We have also been working on some liqueur samples that we hope will be perfected in time for the holidays. Among the running for release include a pear, peppermint, and orange liqueur. Which will work out? It's all about trial and error! We are also awaiting approval on our labels for our first release which will be Love, Vodka. I can assure you that you will be able to purchase a bottle just in time for your holiday festivities. I realize that our bottle release is taking longer than expected- but with all good things, it takes time...and I want to get it right! I promise you won't be disappointed.
